Miami Cannibal Victim Speaks of the Day: Two months after Ronald Poppo had his face eaten off by so-called “zombie” Rudy Eugene, police have released an interview in which the homeless Miami man speaks for the first time about the brutal incident:
He attacked me. He just ripped me to ribbons. He chewed up my face. He plucked out my eyes. Basically that’s all there is to say about it.
For a very short amount of time I thought he was a good guy. But he just went and turned berserk. He apparently didn’t have a good day at the Beach and he — he was coming back. And I guess he took it out, took it out on me or something.
The attack left Poppo blind, but he appears to be resigned to his new reality.
I thank the Miami Police Department for saving my life. That’s about the best I could sum it up as. If they didn’t get there in a nick of time, I would’ve definitely be in worse shape. Possibly I’ll be DOA.

*I forgot this guy still existed.
I won’t lie. His face confuses me. I assume those are skin graphs on his face, but I guess because of the severe damage caused by the attack, they were unable to salvage any of his original face.
All I can say, is good luck. It’s going to be a tough road back.
Heres to hoping he gets some new eyes and a 3D printed facial reconstruction.
